The most popular of all casino card games. The aim of the game is to beat the dealer. You do this by making a hand that has a value of closer to 21 than the dealers hand. You can also win if the dealers hand goes over 21 (bust). Be careful though because if your hand goes above 21 you will lose automatically. This version of blackjack is played with 8 decks of cards, which you will see the dealer shuffle at regular intervals. Once the game has loaded you need to choose your seat at the table. Empty seats will be marked with a number between 1 and 7, pick where you want to sit by clicking your mouse on the numbered space. To place a bet, click on the chip value that you want to use and then click directly on the table to bet. Important - In order for your bets to be accepted you need to click the 'confirm' button before the timer runs out, otherwise your bets will be removed. If a game is already in progress you will need to wait for it to complete before you can play. When the game begins all players will be dealt 2 cards face up, the dealer will also get 2 cards although one will be face down. The cards all take their face value with the exception of any court or picture cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) which all value 10, and Aces which value either 1 or 11 depending on which will give the player the best hand. If the first 2 cards dealt to you total 21 (an Ace and a 10) you have blackjack. Blackjack wins pay 3 to 2 on the players original stake. Other wins pay at 1 to 1. Each player takes turns to act on his or her hand, starting from the player at the right. When it is your turn to act you will be presented with a number of options: Stand - You wish to take no further action on your hand. Hit - You wish to take another card to try to improve the value of your hand. This option can be used multiple times. Double - You double the amount you have bet on your hand and receive one further card only. Split - This option is only available if your first 2 cards are of the same value. By choosing this option you will double your bet and receive two more cards. This effectively gives you 2 hands to play. Please note if you split Aces you are only dealt one more card to each hand and cannot hit for extra cards. 21 hit after splitting is not blackjack as the cards are not the first 2 dealt, and therefore only pays 1 to 1. You are not able to split hands more than once. Once all players have acted the dealer will turn over their face down card. If their hand is valued below 16 they must deal another card. They continue to take cards until their hand is valued at 17 or higher. When the dealer has a hand of between 17 and 21, he will pay all players with a hand closer to 21 than his own. If the player's hand is the same value as the dealer's, the hand is a push or a tie, and the player keeps his stake. If the dealers hand busts all remaining players will be paid. Insurance - If the dealers face up card is an ace all players are offered an insurance bet. This bet is half the players stake. In the event that the dealer has blackjack this bet will pay at 2 to 1. If the dealer does not have blackjack the bet is lost and the hands play as normal. If you wish to talk to the dealer or pitboss you can open the chat window by clicking the button at the bottom of the screen. The window can be moved or re-sized if you wish

Rules for Blackjack

Cards 3 hand Blackjack is played with 4 standard decks of 52 cards (Jokers not included). Number cards, 2-10, count as face value. Face cards, kings, queens and jacks, are equal in value to 10 and aces are valued at either 1 or 11. No particular significance is given to any of the 4 suits. Play takes place against a computerized dealer. The dealer is dealt two cards, and the player is dealt two cards in each box. The player's cards are dealt face up, while only the dealer's first card is shown. A player can choose an additional card by clicking Hit. A player may repeat this as many times as he likes so long as the total of his cards does not exceed 21. If the total surpasses 21, it is considered a "bust" and the player automatically loses. Once a player is satisfied with the cards he is holding, he should click Stand. This is repeated for all the boxes the player is playing. After the player is finished, it is the dealer's turn to reveal his face down card and decide whether he would like to take another card. The dealer must have cards totaling 17 or more. Once the dealer is satisfied with the cards he is holding, the winner is decided. If the value of the player's card is greater than the dealer's, or if the dealer busts then the player is the winner. If the player's card total is the same as the dealer it is considered a "push" and the player gets to keep his bet. The cards are re-shuffled for each game round. Double Jack™ side bet Note: Some Casinos operate Blackjack Professional Series without the Double Jack™ side bet. In this case you will be unable to place a Double Jack™ bet and the following instructions do not apply. Players can place a Double Jack™ side bet as part of the regular backjack game. Double Jack™ bets must be placed after a regular Blackjack bet and before any cards have been dealt. It cannot be changed or withdrawn after the first card has been dealt. The maximum side bet that can be placed is equal to the regular Blackjack bet. A Double Jack™ bet wins if the first card in the regular Blackjack hand is a jack, or if the first two cards in the regular Blackjack hand is a pair of jacks. A Double Jack™ bet is lost if the first card in the regular Blackjack hand is not a jack. The Double Jack™ side bet is settled before the regular Blackjack game continues. The Double Jack™ side bet pays according to the following paytable: First two cards Payout Two Jacks of Spades 100 x bet Pair of Jacks 25 x bet First card is a Jack (single card) 10 x bet Any other combination Nil Blackjack If a 10-value card, i.e. the number 10 card of any suit or a king, queen or jack, plus an ace is initially dealt in any hand, it is considered Blackjack. The player wins 1.5 times his bet when he is dealt a Blackjack. The player automatically loses if the dealer is dealt a Blackjack. If both are dealt a Blackjack it is considered a push and the player gets his bet back. Note: The player does not lose the Double Jack™ side bet if the dealer is dealt a Blackjack. Insurance If the visible card of the dealer is an ace, the player may buy "insurance" by betting and additional 0.5 times his initial bet. If the dealer then gets Blackjack, the player will win 2 times his insurance bet. If the dealer does not get Blackjack, then the player loses his insurance bet and the outcome of his initial bet is determined by the total of the cards he is holding vs. the dealers cards. Even Money If the visible card of the dealer is an ace and the player has Blackjack, the player is offered even money and wins 1 times his bet. Splitting If a player is dealt two cards of the same value (including two of the same face cards), he is entitled to "split" the cards and double his initial bet. Only one split is allowed He will now be playing two hands of Blackjack, one at a time. The first hand is dealt a second card. The player must decide whether he would like to Stand or take another card by clicking Hit. Once the player has finished the first hand, he must move onto the second, repeating the same process. After the player is satisfied with both hands it is the dealer's turn. The dealer will now reveal his other card and take additional cards until he has a total of 17 or more. Note: The player cannot hit on split aces. The dealer deals a second card only for each hand. Double The player may double his bet after viewing his initial two cards. He will then only be allowed one additional hit to complete his hand. It is also possible to Double after a Split, except after splitting two aces.
